motivation gets it done

motivation gets it done

motivation is what gets shit done.

But it's not stable. One day you have it, the next you don't. That's just the human condition, not a personal flaw.

So, how do you keep it going?

There are tricks. doing other tasks instead of the one you're avoiding. todo apps. pomodoro timers. They help, but they're surface-level. The real thing is just staying aware of how you actually feel on a given day and working with that.

The part people underestimate is resting without guilt. Because if you rest and feel bad about it, next time you sit down to work, you're already carrying that weight before you've done anything. The guilt becomes its own obstacle.

But if you let yourself off the hook cleanly, you come back without the extra burden. Just you and the task.

That's usually enough.
